With January comes the opportunity for a fresh start for everyone. As a provider of professional senior care in Hackensack, New Jersey, we at Karma Care encourage all, both young and old, to reflect on their lives as a whole and determine where they want to develop and improve.
If there’s anything 2020 has taught us, it’s that our health and our personal relationships are important for us to live well.
Here are some resolutions we suggest:
- Exercising for at least 10 minutes every day
Physical activity plays a huge role in our health, especially for seniors. That doesn’t mean you have to spend all your free time exercising, but you should certainly dedicate a portion of your day to it. Starting with a 10-minute low-impact workout routine would be just fine.
- Reconnect with old friends
Consider making a short telephone call to a friend you haven’t spoken to in a while. Send an email or reach out via Facebook. Live-in caregivers can help seniors use technology to their advantage as well as protect them from online fraud.
- Make healthier food decisions.
With social distancing rules limiting our movement, it’s easy to fall into the habit of ordering fast-food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Who can blame you — it is convenient? However, doing this can deprive you of a lot of nutrients you can get from fresher, healthier food. Make a point to only eat what can benefit your body the most.
Wondering how you can finance your loved one’s care? We have veterans care that might be perfect for them.
